My name is Marie Ford and I live in Warminster, PA, with my husband and son, Jim and Jimmy. We three were owned by two Maltese, Baxter and Rudy, until October of 2007 when the entire family was kidnapped by Sophie, a then nine month-old Havanese puppy. Sophie very quickly climbed the ladder to the position of Entertainment Director at the Furry Godmother Bed & Biscuit.

For years, we never took a vacation without our dogs. If they couldn’t go with us, we just didn’t go. A kennel was out of the question. Our vacation options were very limited. There just had to be others out there like us.

After over 30 years in the corporate world, I left to begin caring for small dogs in our home. I also give mid-day walks to dogs whose people work a long day and I care for cats in the homes of vacationing owners.

My husband and son were very supportive during this transition. I am so blessed to be able to have my work be something for which I am so passionate. It gives me such joy to be so warmly greeted by my charges. To see a little four-legged friend come running to my front door anxious to see us again just confirms to me time and time again that I did the right thing.
